Helix piercing
A helix piercing sits in the upper outer rim of the ear, the cartilage curve that frames a curated stack. It heals in around 6-12 months and suits hoops, huggies and flat-back studs in 14k recycled gold. Pierced and styled in the Stockholm studio.

What it is
The Helix placement
The helix runs along the upper, curved rim of the ear. As cartilage it heals more slowly than the lobe, but rewards patience with the most versatile placement in a curated ear, single, double or triple, each framing the one below. Flat-back labrets sit flush and heal cleanly here.

How it heals
Cartilage takes time, around 6-12 months. Keep it dry, clean with saline, and never sleep on it while it heals. A flat-back labret is the kindest first piece.

The helix is where a stack gains height. A huggie close to the rim, a hoop above, a fine dot to finish the line.

FAQ
Helix piercing, common questions
Does a helix piercing hurt?
A sharp, brief pinch as the needle passes the cartilage, then it settles quickly.
How long does a helix take to heal?
Around 6-12 months. Cartilage is slower than the lobe, so resist changing it early.
Can I get a double or triple helix?
Yes, often in one sitting. We plan the spacing so the stack reads as one line.
What should I wear first?
A flat-back labret. It sits flush and heals cleanly.
