High lobe piercing
A high lobe piercing sits at the very top of the lobe, close to where the helix begins, but still in soft tissue. It gives the line of a cartilage piercing with the ease of a lobe. Pierced and styled in our Stockholm studio, worn in 14k recycled gold.

What it is
The High lobe placement
The high lobe is the second or third hole above the original, still in soft tissue rather than cartilage. Spacing is everything here: placed well, two or three lobes read as one intentional line rather than a set of separate holes. We mark them with you before piercing.
Healing & aftercare
How it heals
Around 3-6 months, the same as the first lobe, though closely spaced holes can take a little longer. Clean twice daily with saline and avoid sleeping directly on them.

How far above the first lobe should it sit?
Usually 6 to 8 mm, but we mark it against your ear so the line reads evenly.
Can I have it pierced at the same time as my first lobe?
Often yes, two or three in one sitting, depending on your anatomy.
Does it hurt more than the first lobe?
No. It is the same soft tissue, so it feels much the same.
What jewelry suits a high lobe?
Studs and small hoops. Keep it slightly finer than the piece below it.
