Daith piercing

A daith piercing sits in the innermost fold of cartilage, the small ridge above the ear canal. It heals in around 6-12 months and is made for a close hoop or clicker in 14k recycled gold. Pierced in the Stockholm studio.

What it is

The Daith placement

The daith sits in the innermost fold of the ear, the small curl of cartilage just above the canal. Half-hidden, it is the placement people notice last and ask about most. It is worn almost exclusively with a hoop or clicker that follows the fold.

Healing & aftercare

How it heals

Around 6-12 months. The fold is harder to reach, so clean carefully with saline and avoid earbuds and pressure while it heals.

For the full ritual, see our Ear Spa & aftercare guide.

FAQ

Daith piercing, common questions

Does a daith piercing hurt?

A deep, firm pinch given the inner cartilage, but quick.

What jewelry goes in a daith?

A hoop or clicker that follows the fold. Studs do not suit it.

How long does a daith take to heal?

Around 6-12 months. The position makes aftercare important.

Is the daith hard to clean?

It is tucked away, so be thorough with saline and avoid earbuds while it heals.
